Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes Pada Film “Onde Mande!”

Abstract

Film is a medium that combines elements of moving images, sound,  and narrative to convey messages or provide entertainment to  audiences. An intriguing example is the film titled Onde Mande!,  directed by Paul Agusta. This film explores the themes of tradition  and core values within Minangkabau society, offering a portrayal of  local culture rich in meaning. This study aims to analyze the  meanings and messages in Onde Mande! using Roland Barthes'  semiotic method, applied through a qualitative approach. This  method allows for an in-depth analysis of symbols and signs in the  film, helping to uncover more complex layers of meaning. The  findings of this research are expected to provide insights into how  Onde Mande! not only reflects Minangkabau culture but also  contributes to shaping viewers' perceptions and understanding of  these cultural values.
