Analisis Semiotik Terhadap Representasi Visual dan Emosi dalam Film Animasi The Garden of Words
Abstract
The design of a fanmade animated lyric video for Keshi’s “War With Heaven” seeks to visualize a narrative of love constrained by dimensions and time, conveyed through a surrealist visual approach. The song depicts a protagonist who is willing to "wage war against heaven" in pursuit of their beloved, highlighting themes of sacrifice, longing, and existential struggle. This creative project adopts the 4D model—Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate—proposed by Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974) as its developmental framework. The resulting 49-second animation illustrates the protagonist’s passage through temporal portals in an attempt to reunite with their lover, only to be ultimately thwarted by fate and the inescapable constraints of time.
Stylistically, the animation integrates visual metaphors such as fragmented clocks, celestial gateways, and suspended dreamscapes to reflect emotional turbulence and surreal temporality. This work aspires to function as a medium of emotional expression, amplifying the lyrical depth of the song through evocative visual storytelling, while also offering a contemplative lens on the intersection between time, destiny, and devotion.
