Digital Education for Early Marriage Prevention among Adolescents: Implementation and User Evaluation of the PEDE Application
Abstract
Introduction: This community service program aimed to provide education on early marriage prevention through the PEDE application and assess adolescents’ perceptions of its usability. Method: The program was implemented at SMAN 2 Bandung and SMPN 2 Parongpong in Bandung City and West Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Activities included digital education through application demonstrations and guidance on application use. User evaluation employed the 10-item System Usability Scale (SUS). Thirty respondents participated, with 15 from each school. Data were analyzed descriptively after verification of the reverse-coded responses. Results: The mean SUS score was 82.08 (SD = 7.57), the median was 82.50, and scores ranged from 65.00 to 95.00. The mean scores were 80.50 at SMAN 2 Bandung and 83.67 at SMPN 2 Parongpong. These findings describe generally favorable perceived usability while indicating variation across respondents. Conclusion: PEDE can serve as a digital learning tool within adolescent early marriage prevention education. Further user feedback and outcome evaluation are needed to guide refinement and assess learning and sustained application use.
