Efektivitas Afirmasi Positif Dalam Pengembangan Self Awareness Anak Usia 4-5 Tahun

Abstract


Social-emotional development in this case is closely related to the ability of early childhood self-awareness which has an important role in recognizing and managing emotions and building healthy social relationships. In early childhood learning, of course, fun and meaningful methods are needed so that children are able to recognize themselves positively, one of which is through positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are positive statements that children are accustomed to saying or hearing consistently so that they are able to form a positive mindset towards themselves. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of positive affirmations in the development of early childhood self-awareness in group A aged 4–5 years. This study uses a pre-experimental research design with a one group pretest-posttest design, where to determine the ability to self-awareness is tested before and after positive affirmations are applied. Based on the results of the normality test calculation, the pretest and posttest data are distributed normally with a > result of 0.05. Then it was followed by a hypothesis test in the form of a paired t-test using the help of the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 application which showed a sig result of 0.000 which means a sig < 0.05 and a t-value calculated > t table, so that the Ha hypothesis was accepted. Based on the results of the research and the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that positive affirmations are effective in the development of early childhood self-awareness.
