Resistance Training Dan Combined Strength Training Untuk Pemain Muda Olahraga Permainan: A Literature Review
Abstract
Strength training has an important role in improving the performance of sports game players (basketball, volleyball, football, and handball), helping in block, rebound and heading. The purpose of this article is to conduct a systematic review of the current literature to determine the training programs and benefits of strength training for youth sports. A literature search in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Science Direct found 445 articles with the keywords resistance training, combined strength training, and young players. Furthermore, the selection of articles analyzed was limited by the PRISMA strategy which met the following criteria: (a) Experimental research using resistance training and combined strength training treatments that combine resistance training and other physical exercises, (b). The research sample was limited to players sports game (Basketball, volleyball, football and handball) aged 12-17 years, (c) The research was conducted in the last 10 years 2016-2025. A total of 9 studies were included in the criteria and analyzed. The literature review results are 5 combined strength training and 4 resistance training with varied programs. Resistance training significantly increases the strength of players trained at a young age, combined strength training combines weight training with plyometrics proven to increase strength, vertical jump, and sprint ability significantly. These findings suggest that the benefits of strength training can be optimized and obtained with resistance training or combined strength and can be recommended specifically for the training program of young game sports players.
