GRATITUDE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF STUDENTS’ ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

Abstract


Abstract: This article aims to describe the profile and dynamics of gratitude students reviewed from a cultural perspective in both The biggest student external organization Islam (ormawa) in Indonesia namely Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (IMM) and the Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII) in South Sulawesi Province in transforming gratitude in daily practices. For the purpose to maintain 530 people as the sample in the research while taking the population criteria into account, the sampling technique uses a saturated sample. Gratitude is measured through the Indonesian version scale adopted from Listiyandini in 2015. The results of the instrument's processing revealed that each ormawa had students in the very high, high, and moderate categories, but none in the low and very low categories. To examine the theory's applicability, the scale used, and the definition of gratitude for students, followed by the role organizational culture plays in fostering students' appreciation for what they hold, then proceed to the virtual Focus Group Discussion (FGD) stage, each category presented by 2 students for 90 minutes. The results of this study are recommended to be used as consideration in developing guidance and counseling models related to student gratitude in college.
