The Effect of Pull Up Training with Bending on the Speed ​​of Pencak Silat Front Punches

Abstract


This study aims to determine the effect of pull up exercises with bending (weights) on the speed of front punches in PSHT Indralaya Indah pencak silat athletes. The method used was an experiment with a pretest-posttest one group design on 10 male athletes aged 12–16 years during 16 training sessions. The results showed a significant increase in the average stroke from 58.7 (pretest) to 90.4 (posttest). The t-test shows a tcal value (31.66) > ttable (1.833), meaning that Ha is accepted. This exercise is effective in increasing the speed of the punch and is suitable for application in pencak silat training programs.
