The Role of Parents in the Family to Increase Children's Learning Outcomes in Learning PJOK During the Pandemic Covid-19

Abstract


Introduction: Education is essential for every child, as it helps develop their interests and talents. This development can be facilitated through formal or non-formal institutions, where learning activities play a fundamental role. Purpose: The study aimed to examine the role of parents in improving children's learning outcomes in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMPN 4 Tasikmalaya City. Methods: A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through triangulation techniques, including observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The study involved 20 parents of seventh-grade students, selected using purposive sampling. Results: The findings revealed that parents play a crucial role in supporting their children's educational success, particularly in PJOK learning during the pandemic. Conclusions: Parents' contributions included educating and accompanying their children, creating a comfortable learning environment, motivating their children, providing necessary educational resources, and guiding them according to their talents and interests.
