PEDESTRIANS SAFETY : MENINGKATKAN SAFETY FACTOR PEJALAN KAKI

Abstract


Pedestrian safety is a critical issue for achieving sustainable cities. Rapid urbanization brings various impacts, including pressure on pedestrian safety in urban environments. Inadequate infrastructure, poor visibility, unsafe behavior, and weak law enforcement contribute to the high number of pedestrian accidents. Therefore, building a safe and inclusive pedestrian-friendly environment is an urgent need. This study aims to explore technological and engineering solutions to improve pedestrian safety in developing cities. The solutions offered include intelligent traffic signal systems, pedestrian-friendly navigation applications, wider sidewalks, and safe road crossings. The Narrative Literature Review (NLR) method is used to integrate findings from various current literature sources and formulate effective solutions to create a safe and pedestrian-friendly urban environment. This study is expected to contribute to addressing pedestrian safety issues in urban environments and promoting sustainable urban development.

Keselamatan pejalan kaki menjadi isu krusial dalam mewujudkan kota yang berkelanjutan. Urbanisasi yang pesat membawa berbagai dampak, termasuk tekanan pada keselamatan pejalan kaki di lingkungan perkotaan. Infrastruktur yang tidak memadai, visibilitas buruk, perilaku tidak aman, dan penegakan hukum lemah berkontribusi pada tingginya angka kecelakaan pejalan kaki. Oleh karena itu, membangun lingkungan ramah pejalan kaki yang aman dan inklusif menjadi kebutuhan mendesak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi solusi teknologi dan rekayasa dalam meningkatkan keselamatan pejalan kaki di kota-kota yang berkembang. Solusi yang ditawarkan meliputi sistem sinyal lalu lintas cerdas, aplikasi navigasi ramah pejalan kaki, trotoar yang lebih lebar, dan penyeberangan jalan yang aman. Metode Narrative Literature Review (NLR) digunakan untuk mengintegrasikan temuan dari berbagai sumber literatur terkini dan merumuskan solusi yang efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan perkotaan yang aman dan ramah bagi pejalan kaki. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam mengatasi masalah keselamatan pejalan kaki di lingkungan perkotaan dan mendorong pembangunan kota yang berkelanjutan.
