PENGUATAN MODAL SOSIAL MASYARAKAT KABUPATEN BOGOR MELALUI PENINGKATAN CITRA LINGKUNGAN

Abstract


Abstract: Public spaces are often considered an abandoned areas, so they are left unattended by residents. This condition also happened in Gunungsindur Village, Bogor Regency. The neighborhood roads in densely populated settlements are not maintained, and the garbage is scattered, which indicates the community's behavior that is ignorant of the surrounding environment. This community service aims to increase the community's critical awareness about the importance of the community's active role in environmental preservation. The method used is the Participatory Rural Appraisal using various instruments, including Focus Group Discussions, participatory mapping, matrix ranking, and community meetings. Sense of Community as social capital is formed through community service activities. One pedestrian section's arrangement has been successfully implemented, and the formation of an environmental protection group due to socialization and counseling on strengthening the community's capacity.Abstrak: Ruang publik seringkali dianggap bukan milik masyarakat sehingga dibiarkan tanpa pemeliharaan oleh warga sekitar. Hal ini terjadi pula di Desa Gunungsindur Kabupaten Bogor. Jalan lingkungan pada pemukiman padat penduduk tidak terawat dan sampah yang berserakan menandakan perilaku masyarakat yang abai terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penyadaran kritis masyarakat tentang pentingnya peran aktif masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan lingkungan.  Metoda yang digunakan adalah Participatory Rural Appraisal dengan menggunakan berbagai instrumen diantaranya Focus Group Discussion, pemetaan partisipatif, matrix ranking, dan community meeting. Sense of Community atau rasa kebersamaan sebagai modal sosial dibentuk melalui proses kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Penataan satu ruas jalan lingkungan telah berhasil dilaksanakan beserta dibentuknya kelompok pemelihara lingkungan hasil dari sosialisasi dan penyuluhan penguatan kapasitas masyarakat.
