Body Awareness Sebagai Dasar Pembelajaran Tari Untuk Pengembangan Motorik Siswa Tuna Netra

Abstract


This study aims to implement dance learning based on the concept of body awareness to improve motor skills in visually impaired children at SDLBN A Citeureup, North Cimahi. Visually impaired children have limitations in visual perception, which affects their motor development and body awareness. This research employs a quantitative method with a one-group pretest post-test design. The research subjects were elementary-level students with visual impairments.

The learning model used in this study is the synectics model with a multisensory approach. The learning activities were designed through imaginative stimulation using a Garuda bird statue to help students visualize body shapes and movements. The learning process was carried out in four sessions covering four aspects: recognizing the body as a tool for movement, coordinating body parts, exploring movement based on Garuda bird stimulation, and adjusting body movements to rhythm. Data collection techniques included tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show an improvement in motor skills based on body awareness after the implementation of the learning process. The average pre-test score of 6 indicates low body awareness and motor skills before the intervention. After participating in the learning sessions, the post-test scores increased to an average of 14, indicating significant improvement in students’ body awareness and motor abilities. The synectics model with a multisensory approach was proven effective in helping visually impaired students recognize, control, and express their body movements more consciously and purposefully.
