Struktur Berpikir Masyarakat Sunda dalam Tari Berbasis Fauna: Tinjauan Strukturalisme Lévi-Strauss
Abstract
Tari Sunda berbasis fauna, seperti Tari Merak dan Tari Kijang, menyimpan sistem simbolik yang merepresentasikan relasi konseptual antara manusia, alam, dan budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan merekonstruksi struktur berpikir laten masyarakat Sunda melalui analisis simbolik terhadap Tari Merak dan Tari Kijang menggunakan perspektif strukturalisme Claude Lévi-Strauss. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif interpretatif dengan strategi studi kasus komparatif. Objek penelitian berupa dua tari Sunda berbasis fauna, dengan unit analisis meliputi unsur gerak, visualitas, dan simbol fauna. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumentasi pertunjukan tari dan studi literatur ilmiah yang relevan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis struktural Lévi-Strauss yang mencakup identifikasi mytheme, pemetaan oposisi biner, analisis transformasi simbolik, dan rekonstruksi deep structure. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Merak merepresentasikan orientasi estetis-kontemplatif yang menekankan harmoni dan kesadaran, sedangkan Tari Kijang merepresentasikan orientasi naluriah-adaptif yang menekankan kesiagaan dan pengelolaan insting. Kedua tari tersebut membentuk satu sistem makna budaya yang menegaskan keseimbangan antara rasa, naluri, dan kesadaran sebagai struktur berpikir laten masyarakat Sunda.
