REVITALIZING THE IDENTITY INDONESIAN SCHOOL OF THE HAGUE THROUGH THE CREATION OF A NEW MUSIC COMPOSITION OF MARS SIDH
Abstract
The absence of a marching song at Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag (SIDH) creates a significant void in building the school's identity. Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag or called Indonesian School of the Hague, which was formerly named Sekolah Indonesia Netherlands (SIN) and later changed to Sekolah Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Wassenar, previously had a march song, but now its existence is unknown. The absence of this marching song is a significant shortcoming, considering the important role of the marching song as a symbol of identity and unification of an institution. This research aims to fill the void by rebuilding the identity of Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag through the creation of a new march composition that is expected to become a strong musical symbol as a unifying institution that evokes the spirit of nationalism, strengthens unity and integrity, and love for the Indonesian homeland. The method used in this research is to use a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. The problem in this research is how to create a new composition for the marching song of Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag (SIDH) for a marching song that is relevant to current conditions and able to inspire the younger generation of Indonesia in the Netherlands. With the background of the need of Sekolah Indonesia Den Haag (SIDH) for a school march song, as an intern student majoring in music education (P3KLN) who is carrying out a professional strengthening program outside the Netherlands.
