Doktrin Ekonomi Sang Wanita Besi di Inggris Tahun 1979-1990
Abstract
Broadly speaking, this research discusses the economic policies of Britain during Margaret Thatcher's tenure from 1979 to 1990. The gradual and steady sequence of events filling the dynamics of the British economy compelled Margaret Thatcher to devise a long-term plan regarding economic policies. This study aims to provide an understanding of Margaret Thatcher's struggles in dealing with the economic turmoil in Britain from 1979 to 1990. The method employed is historical, involving four steps: heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. According to the research findings, Thatcher's background in implementing free market policies was aimed at reforming the British economy. Thatcher made several efforts to bring about changes that were perceived as beneficial for the economy of Britain. Ultimately, Thatcher's measures had both positive and negative impacts on various social and economic strata.
Abstrak
Ditilik secara garis besar penelitian ini membahas kebijakan Ekonomi Inggris pada masa Margaret Thatcher dalam kurun waktu 1979-1990. Runtutan peristiwa yang pelan dan pasti mengisi dinamika perekonomian di Inggris, membuat Margaret Thatcher harus membuat rencana panjang terkait kebijakan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberi pemahaman bagaimana pergulatan Margaret Thatcher dalam mengatasi gejolak Ekonomi Inggris 1979-1990. Metode yang digunakan adalah historis dengan melakukan tahapan empat langkah yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Merujuk pada hasil penelitian, latar belakang Thatcher mengambil kebijakan pasar bebas adalah mereformasi Ekonomi Inggris. Thatcher melakukan beberapa upaya untuk mencapai perubahan yang dirasa baik untuk Inggris dalam sektor ekonomi. Pada akhirnya langkah Thatcher membawa dampak positif dan negatif dalam tiap lapisan sosial dan ekonomi.
