The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between motivation to regulate eating behavior with the tendency of eating disorders in adolescents who go on a diet. This study hypothesized that non-self-determined motivation would be positively associated with the tendency of eating disorders and the opposite result for self-determined motivation. Participants were 47 adolescent dieters (11 men, 36 women) with a range of 12-22 years old. Participants completed the online questionnaire. The results showed there was no significant relationship between motivation to regulate eating behavior with the tendency of eating disorders. However, there was a significant relationship between introjected and identified regulation with the tendency of eating disorders.
