Pengaruh Intensitas Penggunaan Media Sosial Terhadap Kesehatan Mental Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung

Abstract


Studi ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pengaruh intensitas penggunaan media
sosial terhadap kesehatan mental mahasiswa UIN Sunan Gunung Djati
Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain
korelasional. 100 mahasiswa dilibatkan sebagai subyek dalam penelitian. Social
Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat
ketergantungan terhadap media sosial, sedangkan untuk mengukur gangguan
kesehatan mental umum digunakan Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12). Hasil
penelitian mengungkapkan adanya korelasi positif antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dan gejala gangguan mental, meskipun pengaruhnya hanya sebesar 9,9 persen. Temuan ini menyoroti bahwa, meskipun media sosial memiliki peran dalam membentuk kondisi psikologis mahasiswa, masih terdapat faktor lain yang berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan mental mahasiswa. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya program intervensi untuk membantu mahasiswa mengelola penggunaan media sosial secara lebih sehat dan bijak guna menjaga stabilitas mental mereka.
