Abstract

The historic area on Jalan Braga, Bandung is an attraction for tourists who are visiting the city of Bandung. The Braga area has become a major tourist destination for nature reserves that are crowded with visitors. Starbucks is one of the famous coffee shop brands originating in the United States. Starbucks Asia - Africa is on Jl. Braga No.2 used to function as a trade and service area for public services which was converted as a retail coffee shop owned by Starbucks. Adaptive Reuse is the concept of reusing historical buildings carried out as a conservation measure from one use to another to preserve and protect the building. Thus, a review of the application of adaptive reuse becomes an important matter to be discussed as an effort to preserve colonial buildings. This journal is qualitative through observations on Starbucks Asia Africa. This study shows that Starbuck Asia Afrika is a colonial building that was converted into F&B retail which in the process helps preserve colonial heritage in this modern era by changing the interior according to the brand identity while still maintaining the authenticity of the building.
