PENERAPAN BRAIN BASED LEARNING DALAM PENINGKATAN LITERASI MATEMATIS KELAS V SD

Abstract


The research was based by the importance of mathematical literacy abilities and the fact of grade V elementary school low ability of mathematical literacy. As for the purpose of this research is to know the increase of grade V elementary school mathematical literacy that had been applied by the Brain Based Learning model. The methods used in the research was experimental quasi with Non-Equivalen Group design. The population in this research is all elementary school which is in kelurahan Cicendo. Sampling technique used is the nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling, up to gained an experimental class and control class at one elementary school in kelurahan Cicendo. On the experimental class students learn with the Brain Based Learning model and the control class learn without the Brain Based Learning model. As for the research data was obtained through mathematical literacy ability test in the form of a story question  on the beginning measurement (pretest) and measurements of the end (posttest).  The results showed that the increased ability of mathematical literacy that being applied of the Brain Based Learning model was higher than students without being applied of the Brain Based Learning model.
