PENERAPAN STRATEGI PQ4R UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS III SD

Abstract


Abstract: this research is based on the low reading comprehension skills of students. Based on the results of observation and interviews, the ability to read understanding of students in class III D SDN C is less like the difficulty in determining the main sentence, make the conclusions of the reading, make questions, and find what information contained in the text reading. This study aims to describe the process of learning planning, learning process steps and Improving reading comprehension skills of grade 3 primary school students by applying PQ4R learning strategy (preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review). Indicators of reading comprehension used in this study are to determine the main sentence, write the contents of the text, answer questions based on text and make conclusions. The research method used is Classroom Action Research method with research model according Kemmis and Taggart through 3 cycles. The instrument of data disclosure in this research consists of observation and test sheet. The result of the research showed : in the first cycle students mastery of 46.15% , cycle II increased to equal to 73.07% and increased again in the cycle III mastery 92.3%. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of PQ4R strategy can improve the reading comprehension skills of grade 3 primary school students.
