Abstract


Abstract: The background of this research is the low speaking skill of students. The purpose of this research is knowing the improvement of student speaking skills by using a scientific approach. The research method is Classroom Action Research method adapting by Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. The research three cyclus, in every cyclus consist has of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The instruments used in this research are observation sheet of scientific approach, speaking skills and documentation. The activity steps in the aplication of scientific approach have been done by the teacher. The results of the research show that the teachers have applied the scientific approach maximally. The results indicate an increase in speaking skill in every cyclus. The improvement of students speaking skill in the first cycle reached 47%, the second cycle reached 76% and in the third cycle reached 88%. Therefore, can be concluded that by applying the scientific approach for elementary school can improve the student speaking skills.
