Abstract

Abstract : This reseach originated from low student learning activities on mathematics subjects with a mean of 10,7% and into category less active. Based on the result of pre-cycle reflection, during this time teachers used to apply lectures and assignments without providing opportunities for students to be active in the process of finding their own knowledge. This reseach aims to describe aplication of guided discovery model to improve student learning activities and the increase of student learning activities through guided discovery model. Participants in this study were fourth grades with a total of 23 people in the school year 2017/2018 of elementary school in Bandung. The method used in this reseach is classroom action reseach with model of Kemmis and Taggart wich is implemented in two cycles with stages planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result showed that student learning activities in fourth grades of that school rises from cycle I with an average of 67,5% to 88,7% on cycle II. The conclusion of this reseach is that the guided discovery model can improve the learning activity of fourth grade students.
