PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN KONTEKSTUAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP ENERGI ALTERNATIF PADA SISWA SD
Abstract
Abstract: This research is motivated by the ability of students in understanding the concept of thematic learning (Alternative Energy) in grade IIIb students in one elementary school in Bandung is still lacking. This is indicated by the test results still below the KKM. The KKM used by schools is 70. In the process of thematic teaching the teacher is only fixated on the student's book alone, so that learning is only on memorizing. The purpose of this research is to improve students' concept understanding by applying contextual approach in learning alternative energy. This research method is Classroom Action Research (PTK) by adapting model owned Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This study was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were class IIIb students, amounting to 23 people. The results of cycle I seen from the results of student evaluation shows the ability of students in understanding the concept reached 43.50% with enough category and on the second cycle has increased to 100% with very good category. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the application of contextual approach in learning in class IIIb can improve students' concept understanding in alternative energy materials.
