Abstract

This study aims to show differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the application of Brain Based Learning model and conventional learning . This research is an experimental Quasi Experimental type of Nonequivalent Control Group. The population of this study is all students of class V in Bandung well cluster area. The instrument used in this research is the mathematical reasoning test which is given before the treatment and after the treatment. Through the analysis of pretest data in the experimental class and control class it is known that both classes have a homogeneous initial ability. After doing experimental classroom and control class using Expository model, both experienced a significant increase in mathematical reasoning ability. Since the data of both classes experienced a significant increase in mathematical reasoning ability between the pretest and posttest scores, an N-Gain analysis was conducted in order to know the difference in the improvement of the control class and the experimental class. N-Gain analysis shows that there is a difference in the improvement of the experimental class and control class. The improvement of students' mathematical reasoning ability that obtained learning model of Brain Based Learning as experiment class is higher than control class.
