PENERAPAN METODE MULTISENSORI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA DAN MENULIS PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS I SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Abstract: This research is motivated by observation result in one of elementary school in Bandung, found that approximately 43%, that is 15 from 35 students have not been able to read and around 30% 10 from 35 student still write with less tidy and not according to correct writing . This is due to lack of literacy activities in schools and many students have not been able to distinguish letters. Multisensory method is expected to improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade. The purpose of this study was conducted to describe the application of multisensory methods to improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade students and describes the improvement of the ability of early reading and writing for first grade. The research used the method of Classroom Action Research by Kemmis and Taggart model with two cycles and each cycle consist of planning, act and observation, and reflection. The results of the study based on reading test showed that in the first cycle reached 60% and increased by 27% in cycle II with 87% achievement. While the ability to write based on student evaluation sheet showed that in the first cycle reached 83% and increased by 10% in cycle II with 93% achievement. From the results obtained can be said that the application of multisensory methods can improve the ability of early reading and writing for first grade in elementary school.
