PENERAPAN MODEL KOOPERATIF TIME TOKEN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA
Abstract
Abstract: The purpose of this study is based on the low level of speaking skills of second grade students. The learning goes one way and the teacher does not facilitate the students to do the talking. Students do not dare to express opinions or questions in learning activities. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation and improvement of students' speaking skills with cooperative learning learning model. The research method used is Classroom Action Research Method (CAR) using Kemmis & Mc Taggart design which is implemented in two cycles. The subjects of the study were the second grade of elementary school students, amounting to 35 people. The activity and the learning step applied by the researcher refers to the learning step of the time token model, including: explaining the learning objectives, conditioning the class to hold the discussion, assigning the students, giving a number of talking vouchers, handing over the speaking coupon and the last one is doing the assessment. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' speaking skills from the first cycle of 58% increase in cycle II to 88%. Based on the data obtained by the researchers conclusion from this study is the application of cooperative learning model type time token can increase speech skills of grade 2 elementary school students.
