PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN WHOLE LANGUAGE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Abstract: based on observations that show that students are less interested in writing assignments, students have difficulty in expressing ideas and not being able to use spelling correctly. To overcome this done a research by applying whole language approach on thematic learning. The purpose of this research are: 1) to describe the implementation plan of learning by applying whole language approach, 2) to describe learning by applying whole language approach to improve writing skill of grade v elementary school, 3) to know the improvement of writing skill in grade v student of elementary school by applying whole language approach. This study is a classroom action research that refers to the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model with multiple stages. Each stage consists of planning, execution, observation, and reflection. This study was conducted in two cycles. The results obtained are the average value of students' writing ability in the 84% first cycle and 96% second cycle. The conclusion of this research is the students' writing ability has improved after getting the learning by applying whole language approach.
