PENERAPAN METODE DRILL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS II SD

Abstract


This research is motivated by the students’ low initial writing skill of IIgrade at elementary school. This is because in the learning that has been donehave less emphasis on practice in writing. Therefore, to avoid these problems theresearchers applied the rill method. This research aims to describe theimplementation of drill methods to improve initial writing skills. The subjects ofthis research were II grade students at elementary school students in the Bandungcity, totaling 23 students. Research carried out sing the PTK (Classroom ActionResearch) method with the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart mode; consisting ofplanning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research wasconducted in two cycles with qualitative and quantitative data analysistechniques. The research instruments were used the drill method implementationssheet and the initial writing skill indicator scoring sheet. The result of thisresearch indicated an increase from cycle I to cycle II with students completingclassically more than 85% which is seen from the KKM value. From these result itcan be concluded that the implementation of drill methods can improve studentsinitial writing skills.
