PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR
Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of the Problem Based Learning model in the fifth grade of Elementary School. This research is motivated by the findings of the researchers that the problem solving ability of students in that class is still relatively low. Therefore, there needs to be a learning model that can provide a problem-solving experience by using a Problem Based Learning (PBM) model. The steps of PBL consist of: 1) student orientation on the problem, 2) organizing students to learn, 3) guiding individual and group investigations, 4) developing and presenting the work, and 5) analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process. The method used in this study is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using a model developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, which is a model that consists of four stages in each cycle. After this study there was an increase in results from 65.63% in the first cycle to 93.75% in the second cycle. Based on these results it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of fifth grade elementary school students
