PENERAPAN MODEL CIRC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAMAN

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the reading skills of grade III students' comprehension in Indonesian language learning in the second semester is still relatively low and the application of conventional learning models that only uses the lecture method, this is seen in the KKM value of students below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) values, namely 75. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research with the subject of the third grade students of Bandung State Elementary School, totaling 30 students, consisting of 15 men and 15 women. The object of this research was conducted at the District Elementary School of Cicendo which is located on the Pasirkaliki street in Bandung. The action research was carried out in two cycles, each of which had four components, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the application of the CIRC model could improve the reading skills of grade III students' understanding. The research data shows an increase in the average value of the test results the number of students who reach the KKM in each cycle. The average value in cycle I was 77.33 with 78.13% completeness and the average value in cycle II was 82.66 with 84% completeness. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the CIRC model can improve reading comprehension skills.
