PENERAPAN METODE CIRC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Abstract: This research is driven by the lack of reading comprehension skills of students’ elementary school grade IV. This is because in teaching learning process the teacher asks students to read instantaneously with the group. This research aims to improve reading comprehension of students’ elementary school grade IV by implementing the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart which is done in 2 cycles. Data collection techniques are done through tests, observations, field notes, and documentation. The results of this research have increased from the first cycle, the average value of students reached 63.4 with 30% percentage of completeness. Then in the second cycle, the average value of students reached 81 with a percentage of completeness reached 93%. Grounded on this, it can be stated that the CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) method can improve the reading ability of students of grade IV in elementary school
