PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PBL (PROBLEM BASED LEARNING) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DI KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


The research aims to improve students ' critical thinking skills by using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning model. The background of this research is because the critical thinking skills in the school are low, with a teacher's condition that only uses conventional methods or lectures in the learning process, causing passive students to process Learning. The method used by the researchers is the Research Action Class (PTK) adapting from the PTK model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The study was conducted in two cycles using qualitative and quantitative methods. The method of data retrieval by using an observation sheet with a study subject number of 30 students in class IV with a total of 14 male students and a total of 16 female students. Location of research in a elementary school of Sarijadi subdistrict, Bandung. The PBL (Problem Based Learning) Model step is: Orientation on the problem, to develop students to learn, to guide individual and group investigations, developing and presenting works and analyzing and evaluating The process of polishing the problem. After the implementation of two cycles occurred progression of students ' critical thinking skills, the visible of each cycle experienced a significant increase. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the implementation of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model in class IV SD proved to improve students ' critical thinking skills. This model can be used as an alternative in learning that teachers can use to improve students ' critical thinking skills.
