PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN CIRC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This research is motivated by low reading comprehension of fifth grade students in Bandung. This research was aimed to describe the application of the implementation of teaching Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) Model to improve student’s ability in reading comprehension of fifth grade students in elemntary school. This research used classroom action research method. The researcher used Kemmis and Mc. Taggart in the design of the method. This research used two cycles. The researcher used observation, documentation, notes and test as the instrument. There were 24 students, consisted of 9 male and 15 female. It can be concluded that the ability students reading comprehension was imporved in the second cycle. In the first cycle has reached 62% and increased to 95,8% in the second cycle. The improvement was 33,3% between first cycle and second cycle. In conclusion, the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) model could improve the student’s ability in reading comprehension of fifth grade students in elemntary school. Thus this model can be an alternative way of teaching reading comprehension for other teachers
