MODEL SCAFFOLDING WRITING BERBASIS STUDI KASUS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN MORAL SOSIAL BUDAYA PADA SISWA SD DI BANDUNG

Abstract


This study aims to improve 21st-century life skills for elementary school students based on social culture. One way that can be done to achieve is instilling and giving social culture moral knowledge early on which is fit to core competence KI-2 about social aspect that put in basic competence 2.3 at Civic Education on elementary school to learn tolerance in diversity on society at Bhinneka Tunggal Ika context. The process of instilling and providing socio-cultural moral knowledge is carried out through a scaffolding writing model based on case study. The scaffolding writing model based on case study is a multi literacy learning that push student to analyze the issues of sociocultural according to the descriptive text. This model consists of the following stages: (1) pre-writing; (2) writing; and (3) post writing. This study uses a quantitative approach with the pre-experimental method of one group pretest-posttest design. The results of this study indicate that the application of study case scaffolding writing model is effective to improve students moral knowledge of social culture by 1.08 (difference between pretest and posttest results) with the quality improvement falls into the medium category. The increased of students moral knowledge can be seen while the students write identified result of the descriptive text related to socio-cultural as an identity, provide reasons for activities that have been classified as good along with bad values, and make plans for activities to be carried out as a repressive or as solution based on the descriptive text
