PENERAPAN METODE MIND MAPPING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of social studies 4th grade elementary school students. The low learning outcomes of social studies is due to the position of the teacher in learning as the only information center, while the scope of social studies material is so broad. This study aims to describe the application of mind mapping methods to improve social studies learning outcomes of 4th grade students in elementary schools. This research uses class action research Kemmis and MC Taggart models carried out in two cycles. The study participants were grade 4 students with 33 students in the city of Bandung. This research instrument consisted of an observation sheet, test, and documentation. Data processing techniques applied are qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative data is processed through the data reduction step, data presentation and conclusion drawing. While quantitative data in the form of test results are processed by calculating class averages and percentages. the results of the study obtained that the pre-cycle average value of students obtained 65,7 with a percentage of 33%, cycle I the average value of students increased to 75,2 with a percentage of 58% and in cycle I the average value of students increased to 93,3 with a percentage of 100%. The results showed that the application of the mind mapping method can improve social studies learning outcomes of 4th grade students of elementary schools).
