Abstract

Learning motivation is crucial for students to engage effectively in learning activities. It comprises internal motivation (from within students) and external motivation (influenced by external factors). In 2022, face-to-face learning resumed post-pandemic, presenting challenges as students and teachers readjusted. This study explores classroom learning conditions and students' learning motivation during the post-pandemic period. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research involved fifth-grade teachers and students at an elementary school in Bandung Regency. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's techniques: data collection, presentation, reduction, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that postpandemic conditions significantly affect classroom learning and student motivation, with outcomes ranging from positive to negative. Negative conditions hinder optimal learning and must be addressed to achieve educational goals and improve motivation. The study concludes that post-pandemic learning cannot yet be deemed ideal. While students exhibit good external motivation, their internal motivation still requires significant improvement. These findings emphasize the need for further strategies to create ideal learning conditions and boost student motivation in a post-pandemic context, serving as a foundation for future research on achieving effective learning environments.
