PENILAIAN DAN EVALUASI BAHASA INDONESIA DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


Assessment and evaluation in teaching Indonesian at the primary level are crucial for supporting the teaching and learning process. Evaluation not only measures student achievement but also assesses the effectiveness of teaching strategies, enabling teachers to understand students' progress and make informed decisions to improve the quality of learning. It is important to plan evaluation techniques under learning objectives and to view them as an ongoing process. Assessment in Indonesian language learning includes reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Writing skills are key as they reflect students' understanding of grammar and creativity. Writing assessments can be conducted through both analytical and holistic approaches, as well as formative and summative methods, each with its advantages. Evaluation also encompasses listening and speaking abilities, as communication skills are fundamental for academic development. By using appropriate assessment methods, teachers can create an engaging and relevant learning environment, helping students achieve educational goals optimally. This research aims to provide insights into the importance of assessment and evaluation in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
