HUBUNGAN ANTARA TANGGUNG JAWAB DENGAN KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This research aims to determine the profile of responsibility and independent learning, as well as to analyze the relationship between these two variables among fourth-grade elementary school students. The study is motivated by the observation of limited 4C skills and suboptimal character development following the changes in the learning system during the pandemic. Specific issues identified include a lack of student engagement, passivity in classroom interactions, and a tendency to neglect assignments, which adversely affects independent learning behaviors such as lack of seriousness and academic dishonesty.

 

Methodologically, this research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design. The population comprised fourth-grade students in Lumbung District, with a sample of 89 students selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using self-developed questionnaires that were tested for validity and reliability, complemented by observation guidelines. The results indicate that: 1) student responsibility is in the medium category (77.5%); 2) independent learning is also in the medium category (66.3%); and 3) there is a positive and strong correlation (0.684) between responsibility and independent learning. These findings suggest that fostering a sense of responsibility is crucial for enhancing students' independence in learning..
