Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology has significantly impacted education, encouraging educators to adopt innovative teaching approaches. This study investigates the development and effectiveness of Spotify audio podcasts as an instructional medium for eleventh-grade MPLB students at SMK Negeri 2 Kota Kediri. Using a Research and Development (R&D) methodology based on the ADDIE model, the study evaluates the podcasts’ impact on student motivation and learning outcomes compared to other instructional media. Data collected through content and media expert validation and student motivation surveys were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Additionally, the Wilcoxon Test was employed to determine differences in learning outcomes. Results indicate that Spotify audio podcasts, as validated by experts, are highly effective in enhancing both motivation and learning outcomes among students. The findings underscore the potential of incorporating audio podcasts into instructional strategies to provide an engaging and effective learning medium, thereby supporting improved educational outcomes. In conclusion, Spotify audio podcasts represent a promising tool for enriching learning experiences and fostering better academic achievements in vocational education settings.
