Author Guidelines

1. Introduction

  • Inovasi Kurikulum journal is an open access and peer-reviewed journal published by Himpunan Pengembang Kurikulum Indonesia (HIPKIN) in collaboration with Curriculum Development Study Program, Faculty of Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia with registered number p. ISSN 1829-6750 e. ISSN 2798-1363. 
  • The journal scope includes particular interests in issues related to curriculum development, including curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and learning development (resources, models, media, and assessment).

2. The Manuscript General Guidelines

  • Manuscripts under the guidelines of Inovasi Kurikulum journal are written in MS Word format using Inovasi Kurikulum article template, and submitted online via Open Journal System on https://ejournal.upi.edu/index.php/index/user. Contact us through email: jurnal.inovasi.kurikulum@upi.edu for help.
  • The manuscript is an original work by the author based on authentic research result that has not been published yet in other publications.
  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism practices. Indications of plagiarism results in rejected manuscript.
  • The submission and the publication processes are free, without any additional fees.
  • The manuscript contains research related to curriculum development (see the focus and scope)
  • The author’s name is written using font Arial, size 12 pt, Bold, Center, space 1, Capitalize Each Word, and separated using comas when there is more than one author.
  • The author’s affiliation consists of the author's institution and written using font Arial, size 11 pt, Center, space 1, Capitalize Each Word.
  • The email address on paper is only from the first author. It is written using font Arial, size 11 pt, Italic, Center, space 1, lowercase
  • The abstract consists of an introduction, purpose, method, and conclusion; in 150-200 words and written in Indonesian with Arial, size 10, space 1, Justify and In English Arial, 10 pt, Italic, Justify.
  • Keywords consist of 3-5 relevant words or phrases separated with the semicolon with Arial, 10 pt.
  • The manuscript shall be written in Indonesian or English, consisting of 6000 words maximum, Arial 11pt., spacing 1.15, A4 paper (21cm x 29.7cm) using top 2 cm, left, bottom, and right 1,5 cm margin.
  • The text of the articles must be in Arial, 11 pt, 1,15 Spacing, Justify, separated into one column.
  • The words from uncommon or foreign languages are stated in Italic format. For the article in Bahasa Indonesia, foreign terms or words should be avoided.
  • Table writing uses horizontal lines, without vertical lines. Table data sources are listed and follow the example of table writing in the article template.
  • The pictures inserted in the manuscript should include the sources clearly and follow the example of pictures writing in the article template.
  • The manuscripts only consist of INTRODUCTION, LITERATURE REVIEW, METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, AUTHOR’S NOTE, REFERENCE.

3. The Guidelines for the Manuscript Body Text

  • Title: The title should be informative and be written both briefly and clearly. It cannot have diverse multi-interpretations. It has to be straightforward to the issues that will be discussed. The beginning word is written in a capital case and symmetrically. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by its explanations. The article title should be written within 12 words, Arial 14pt-sized font, with the bold selection, capitalize each word, and in the center text format. Meanwhile, the abstract has to be written within 150-200 words maximum and followed by 3-5 keywords.
  • Introduction: The introduction must contain (shortly and consecutively) a general background and a literature review (state of the art) as the basis of the brand-new research question, statements of the brand-new scientific article, main research problems, and the hypothesis. In the final part of the introduction, the purpose of the article writing should be stated. In the scientific article format, it is not allowed to write down the references as in the research report. They should be represented in the literature review to show the brand-new scientific article.
  • Literature Review: contains a systematic description of previous studies relevant to the research. This section describes the strengths and limitations of previous research that can be material for the argument that the current work is conducted to refine or develop prior research. This section also contains the theoretical basis, basic concepts, and principles required for problem-solving related to the research. The literature review can be in the form of qualitative descriptions, mathematical models, concepts, or tools related to the study. All sources cited in the study must be written in the reference list.
  • Methods: The method is implemented to solve problems, including analytic methods. The methods used in the problem-solving of the research are explained in this part and must be accompanied by a reference.
  • Result and Discussion: This part consists of the research results and how they are discussed. The results obtained from the research have to be supported by sufficient data. The research results and the discovery must be the answers  to the research hypothesis stated previously in the introduction part. The part of the discussion explains the findings obtained from research data along with theory and similar research comparisons.
  • Conclusion: The final part contains conclusions. The conclusions will be the answers to the hypothesis, the research purposes, and the research discoveries. The conclusions should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions, but also the summary of the research results as the author expects in the research purposes or the hypothesis. The advice contains suggestions associated with further ideas from the research. All of them have to be written in paragraphs without numbering.
  • Author’s Note: This section contains a statement from the author that there is no conflict of interest and plagiarism issues in the publication of the article.
  • References: All the references that used in the article must be listed in this part. In this part, all the used references must be taken from primary sources (scientific journals and the least number is 80% from all the references) that were published in the last ten years. Each article is recommended to have at least thirty references.
 

4. The Guidelines for the Citations and References

  • Authors are recommended to site relevance article from Inovasi Kurikulum journal. 
  • All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources. 
  • The references should use a reference manager such as Mendeley, Zotero, or another reference manager. 
  • The citation format used in Inovasi Kurikulum journal follows the format applied by APA (American Psychological Association) latest edition.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it in consideration for another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. When available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
