Industri Perhotelan Ditengah Pandemi Covid-19: Peluang Adopsi New Normal Dari Studi Kasus Hotel Di Kota Bengkulu

Abstract


ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 outbreak has paralyzed the hospitality industry globally. In Bengkulu, the COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on hotel business continuity in line with the government's directive to stay at home. This study examines the opportunities for business hotel business continuity by implementing new protocol standards during the pandemic crisis for hotel businesses in Bengkulu City. This study uses a case study with a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with managerial positions, literature studies, and government regulations. This study shows that there are new opportunities and expectations of hoteliers with the implementation of the standard protocol of government regulations to wear a mask, wash your hands with soap, and keep a distance to continue business operations. This study will share the experience directly facing the business hotel business operators to maintain business operations in the city of Bengkulu.

ABSTRAK

Wabah COVID-19 telah melumpuhkan industri perhotelan secara global. Di Bengkulu, wabah COVID-19 berdampak pada terancamnya keberlangsungan usaha hotel seiring dengan arahan pemerintah untuk beraktivitas dirumah saja. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang peluang keberlangsungan usaha hotel bisnis dengan menerapkan standar protokol baru selama krisis pandemi bagi bisnis hotel di Kota Bengkulu. Studi ini menggunakan metode qualitative dengan menggunakan studi melalui observasi secara langsung dengan mewawancarai posisi manajerial, studi literatur, dan peraturan pemerintah kota Bengkulu yang diterapkan. Kajian ini menunjukkan terdapat peluang baru dan harapan pelaku bisnis  hotel dengan penerapan new-normal pada penerapan standar protokol dari peraturan pemerintah untuk menggunakan masker, mencuci tangan dengan sabun, serta menjaga jarak selama melanjutkan operasi bisnis. Studi ini berbagi pembelajaran langsung yang dihadapi pihak pelaku usaha hotel bisnis untuk mempertahankan operasi bisnis di kota Bengkulu.
