Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research examines MFT-related publications from 2014 to 2024 by systematically identifying attributes relevant to Muslim-friendly tourism. The purpose of this study is to develop a classification of Muslim Friendly Tourism attributes using qualitative methods. The findings of this research show an adaptation of general tourism attributes into Muslim-friendly consisting of appearance, accessibility, attraction, amenities, accommodation, available package, activities, and appraisal (8As of MFT Attributes). These findings are derived from the analysis of 20 previous research publications, comprising 44 items of Muslim tourists' needs during their travels. These unique needs are categorized into three priority scales: high, medium, and low. The implications of this research enable the development of more effective and efficient strategies in destination management. Furthermore, the industry can adapt to the globally evolving preferences and specific needs of Muslim tourists.
