Identifying Local Challenges of Sustainable Tourism Development in Tongging Village

Abstract

This study identifies the challenges of developing sustainable tourism in Tongging Village based on the analysis of local community perceptions. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, combining literature reviews, field observations, and in-depth interviews with 12 key informants, namely local residents and the local government. The study found that the challenges faced by the community in Tongging Village include a lack of promotion and cultural preservation, as well as low and unsustainable environmental quality. This study contributes to the development of sustainable tourism villages in Indonesia, particularly Tongging Village, by providing recommendations to stakeholders to improve the quality of the village.

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan di Desa Tongging berdasarkan hasil analisa persepsi masyarakat lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang menggabungkan hasil tinjauan pustaka, observasi lapangan, dan wawancara mendalam dengan 12 informan kunci, yaitu masyarakat lokal dan pemerintah setempat. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa tantangan yang dihadapi masyakarat di Desa Tongging adalah kurangnya promosi dan pelestarian budaya, serta kualitas lingkungan yang rendah dan tidak berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan desa wisata yang berkelanjutan di Indonesia, khususnya Desa Tongging, melalui pemberian rekomendasi bagi pemangku kepentingan untuk meningkatkan kualitas desa.
