Abstract

Critical thinking is a very important skill in the 21st century. However, several studies have stated that students' critical thinking skills are still in the low category. This study aims to apply the problem based learning (PBL) learning model oriented to the critical thinking skills of high school students on momentum and impulse material. This research method is quasi-experimental and the research design used is quantitative. The research instruments used consist of essay questions on critical thinking skills and LKPD on momentum and impulse material. The sample in this study consisted of two classes X in one of the high schools in the city of Bandung. The effect of implementing the problem based learning model was analyzed using effect size, the LKPD results are displayed in percentage form, the increase in critical thinking skills was analyzed based on the results of the pretest and posttest. The problem based learning model shows a large effect with an effect size value of 1.05.
