Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of training in students' science process skills in learning physics. This study aims to determine the increase in students' science process skills in sound wave material after applying the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by PhET simulation. The research design used was a pre-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study was 30 students of class XI at one of the high schools in the city of Bandung. The instruments used in this study included science process skills test questions in the form of multiple choices, observation sheets on the implementation of the learning model, and questionnaires on student responses to the application of the learning model. The data analysis technique uses paired t-test, N-Gain, and descriptive statistics. The results showed that the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by PhET simulations could improve science process skills in the moderate category with an increase in N-gain of 0.63. The results of the paired sample t-test can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students' science process skills after participating in class learning. The implementation of the Learning Cycle 7E learning model was included in the very good category, and received positive responses from students. This study shows that the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by PhET simulation can improve students' science process skills in sound wave material.
