Model Pembelajaran STEAM sebagai Inovasi dalam Strategi Pembelajaran PAUD di Era Digital

Abstract


This literature review explores the implementation of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) learning model as an innovation in early childhood education (ECE) strategies in the digital era. The study aims to analyze how STEAM enhances creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy among young learners, based on national and international studies published between 2019 and 2025. The review reveals that STEAM-based approaches foster holistic development by integrating scientific exploration, artistic expression, and technological engagement. The inclusion of digital tools such as robotics, augmented reality, and multimedia storytelling has been shown to boost children’s motivation and engagement. However, successful implementation requires teacher readiness, adequate digital infrastructure, and strong curriculum integration. This paper concludes that STEAM is a transformative model that prepares children for the challenges of the 21st century through innovative and interdisciplinary learning experiences.                  

Kajian literatur ini menelaah penerapan model pembelajaran STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) sebagai inovasi dalam strategi pembelajaran Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana model STEAM dapat meningkatkan kreativitas, berpikir kritis, serta literasi digital anak usia dini berdasarkan kajian nasional dan internasional yang terbit antara tahun 2019 hingga 2025. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan berbasis STEAM mendorong perkembangan holistik anak dengan mengintegrasikan eksplorasi ilmiah, ekspresi seni, dan keterlibatan teknologi. Pemanfaatan alat digital seperti robotik, augmented reality, dan media interaktif terbukti meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi belajar anak. Namun keberhasilan penerapan membutuhkan kesiapan guru, infrastruktur digital memadai, serta integrasi kurikulum yang kuat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa STEAM merupakan model pembelajaran transformatif yang mempersiapkan anak menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21 melalui pengalaman belajar interdisipliner dan inovatif.
