Peningkatan Keterampilan Menulis Karya Ilmiah Siswa MA Negeri 2 Magelang
Abstract
The ability to think critically is key to responding to the rapid flow of information. Inability to think critically today can lead to disorientation and poor decision-making. As individuals in a transitional and maturing phase of thinking, high school students are vulnerable to being trapped in this situation. Based on this, the purpose of this activity is to equip high school students with logical thinking skills through training in compiling and writing scientific papers. Mastery of scientific writing skills will be highly influential for high school students, especially as a competency base for facing the dynamics of higher education or in addressing problems and information in everyday life. Therefore, scientific research workshops for high school students are crucial and align with university needs. The results showed that the scientific paper writing workshop for students at MAN 2 Magelang Regency went very well. To show appreciation for the participants' commitment, the Community Service Program (PKM) team selected five of the best scientific papers. A drawback of the workshop was the inconsistent number of participants in each session, particularly during the online session. Inconsistent participant attendance during online sessions was due to technological challenges experienced by participants, including device issues, both with mobile devices and laptops, and network issues. Therefore, this inconsistency cannot be attributed to disinterest, as the majority of participants paid attention and revised their writing based on input from the community service team.
