MODEL BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING KECAKAPAN HIDUP UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN PENYESUAIAN DIRI MAHASISWA

Abstract


This study was based on the fact that some students of Galuh University Education Faculty were unable to self-adjust to physical, intellectual, emotional, social, moral, and religious issues. When unsolved, they would have negative effects on personal development of the students and their future professional performance. The study aimed at developing an effective guidance and counseling model of life skills in order to improve the students’ self- adjustment. Research method in use was quasy experiment with a non-equivalent pre-tes and post-testcontrol group design. The findings show that (1) the students were fairly able to self-adjust, (2) the guidance and counseling model of life skills to structurally develop the students’ aself-adjustment include conceptual framework, and operating matual, (3) there was a significant difference of experimental and control groups in self-adjustment profile at the aftermat of the model application, and (4) based on an empirical test, the model was effective to develop the self-adjustment of Galuh University students in 2012/2013.
