URGENSI LITERASI DIGITAL DALAM MERESPONS PEMANFAATAN AI DI LINGKUNGAN PENDIDIKAN: SEBUAH STUDI LITERATUR

Abstract


The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector has presented new challenges that demand the readiness of digital literacy competencies for all educational stakeholders. Digital literacy is no longer just the ability to operate technology, but has developed into a critical competency in evaluating, utilizing, and ethically responding to AI-based technology. This study aims to examine the urgency of digital literacy in responding to the use of AI in the educational environment through a narrative literature review method. A total of 25 publications were analyzed, drawn from Google Scholar, Garuda, SINTA, and ScienceDirect databases, covering the period 2016-2026, using keywords such as 'digital literacy,' 'digital competency,' 'artificial intelligence in education,' and 'AI literacy.' The results of the study show that: (1) digital literacy is a fundamental competency in responding to the development of AI in education, encompassing technical skills, critical evaluation, ethical consideration, digital security, adaptability, and information filtering; (2) low digital literacy is the main obstacle in optimizing the use of AI, leading to technological resistance, pedagogical stagnation, and ethical risks; and (3) increasing digital literacy competency through systematic and sustainable programs is an urgent need. Importantly, this study proposes a conceptual linkage between Digital Literacy → AI Literacy → Effective AI Integration as a framework for understanding the competency continuum required in the AI era. The implications of this study indicate the importance of designing structured digital literacy improvement programs as a foundation to support the transformation of technology-based education.

 

Perkembangan pesat Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam sektor pendidikan telah menghadirkan tantangan baru yang menuntut kesiapan kompetensi literasi digital bagi seluruh pemangku kepentingan pendidikan. Literasi digital tidak lagi sekadar kemampuan mengoperasikan teknologi, tetapi telah berkembang menjadi kompetensi kritis dalam mengevaluasi, memanfaatkan, dan merespons teknologi berbasis AI secara bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji urgensi literasi digital dalam merespons pemanfaatan AI di lingkungan pendidikan melalui metode kajian literatur naratif. Sebanyak 25 publikasi dianalisis dari database Google Scholar, Garuda, SINTA, dan ScienceDirect, mencakup rentang waktu 2016-2026, menggunakan kata kunci 'literasi digital,' 'kompetensi digital,' 'artificial intelligence in education,' dan 'literasi AI.' Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) literasi digital menjadi kompetensi fundamental dalam merespons perkembangan AI di pendidikan, mencakup kemampuan teknis, evaluasi kritis, pertimbangan etis, keamanan digital, adaptabilitas, dan penyaringan informasi; (2) rendahnya literasi digital menjadi hambatan utama optimalisasi AI yang berujung pada resistensi teknologi, stagnasi pedagogis, dan risiko etika; serta (3) peningkatan kompetensi literasi digital melalui program sistematis dan berkelanjutan menjadi kebutuhan mendesak. Penelitian ini mengusulkan kerangka konseptual Literasi Digital → Literasi AI → Integrasi AI yang Efektif sebagai kontinum kompetensi di era AI. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya program peningkatan literasi digital yang terstruktur sebagai fondasi transformasi pendidikan berbasis teknologi.
