RELIGIUSITAS DAN KETAATAN KARYAWAN DALAM ORGANISASI MODERN DI PT AYO MEDIA NETWORK
Abstract
In modern organizational contexts, employee obedience to leadership is shaped not only by formal structures such as work regulations and evaluation systems, but also through the internalization of moral and spiritual values. This study aims to examine how religious socialization occurs within the workplace and how it influences employee loyalty and compliance toward leadership. Drawing on Darren E. Sherkat’s (2001) theory of religious socialization, this research conceptualizes organizations as a space of interaction between social structure (e.g., company rules, ethical codes, organizational culture) and individual agency (e.g., reflection, moral awareness, and personal spirituality). A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, utilizing internal documents from PT Ayo Media Network (e.g., company code of conduct, employee policies) and in-depth interviews with staff from various departments. The findings reveal that religiosity manifests through universal values such as empathy, integrity, and exemplary conduct, which are internalized through daily workplace practices and transformational leadership. Obedience to leadership is shaped more by moral trust and example-setting than by hierarchical pressure. These results extend Sherkat’s framework into the secular organizational setting of the digital era.
