HUBUNGAN SELF-CONTROL DENGAN PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL–BEING SISWA

Abstract


This study examined the relationship between Self-Control and Psychological Well-Being among tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Pemulutan. A quantitative correlational design was employed with 106 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using Self-Control and Psychological Well-Being scales and analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results indicated that both Self-Control and Psychological Well-Being were at a moderate level. Although a positive relationship was found, the correlation was very weak and not statistically significant (r = 0.162; p = 0.097 > 0.05). These findings indicate that Self-Control is not a significant factor in determining students’ Psychological Well-Being.

 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Self-Control dan Psychological Well-Being pada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Pemulutan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 106 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa skala Self-Control dan Psychological Well-Being, dengan analisis data menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Self-Control dan Psychological Well-Being berada pada kategori sedang. Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara Self-Control dan Psychological Well-Being, namun hubungan tersebut sangat lemah dan tidak signifikan secara statistik (r = 0,162; p = 0,097 > 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa self-control bukan merupakan faktor utama yang menentukan Psychological Well-Being siswa.
